The government coalition from next week will hold consultations on the fiscal policy for the next year with representatives of the business sector. Such an agreement was reached in the November 8 meeting of the Board of the Pro-European Coalition, which centered on the priority projects for the parliamentary session, IPN reports.
The head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet told the journalists that they discussed all the important subjects for good governance and for the implementation of the reform agenda. “The anticorruption package will be mandatorily passed. This is a sensitive and important area, and we will hold additional debates in the next meeting of the Board,” said the politician. As to the VAT, Valeriu Strelet said all the farmers ask restoring the VAT of 8%. Assessments are now carried out and negotiations are held with the International Monetary Fund.
Deputy Head of Parliament Andrian Candu said that before debating the budgetary-fiscal policy, the bills must be examined by the Government. Attending the meeting, Minister of Finance Anatol Arapu said the draft budget will be soon submitted to the Cabinet.
The leader of the Liberal reformers Ion Hadarca said the government’s priorities are related to the fiscal policy and the adoption of the budget. “In the autumn session, we will examine the most important subjects. As regards the VAT, the issue is discussed with the IMF. We will calm things down in the near future. I think there are no impediments to the budget and we asked that it be submitted to Parliament as soon as possible, possibly next week,” he stated.
The next meeting of the Board of the Pro-European Coalition was scheduled for November 11.
