Government approves ten candidates for ambassador
The Government Thursday approved the ten candidates for ambassador who were accepted by the countries in which they are going to work. The candidates are now to be named to posts by presidential decree, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The ten candidates are: Iurie Renita (Romania), Ion Stavila (Ukraine), Oleg Serebrian (France), Stefan Gorda (Czech Republic), Anatol Urecheanu (People's Republic of China), Aurel Ciocoi (Federal Republic of Germany), Valeriu Chiveri (Austria, the OSCE, the UN Agencies in Vienna, and Slovakia simultaneously), Emil Druc (Sweden), Gheorghe Hioara (Belarus) and Igor Clipii (Lithuania).
The Government also approved the candidacy of Nicolae Nuca for the post of Moldova's consul in the Italian region Bologna. By another decision, Moldova's representative to the CIS Economic Council Valentin Dragan was recalled.
Commenting on the approval of the candidates, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iurie Leanca said all the designated persons have worked in embassies and were selected for their merits. He stressed that professionalism is a factor that will contribute to an improved work of the Moldovan embassies abroad.
