The census of people and houses in Moldova will be taken on April 1-14, 2014, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the plan of action approved by the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Cabinet also instituted the national commission for organizing the census that will be headed by Prime Minister Vlad Filat. According to Lucia Spoiala, director general of the National Bureau of Statistics, the census will cover all the private individuals residing in Moldova, including the persons who are temporarily absent, who work abroad on a temporary basis and who have temporary residency in Moldova. The census of April 2014 will be preceded by a test census in April 2013. It will be taken in Chisinau’s Buiucani district and in Zaim village of Causeni district in conditions similar to those of the general census. The census will cost an estimated 89.8 million lei. The money will be allocated from the state budget and from foreign sources.
