On October 1 this year, all the pensioners in the Republic of Moldova will benefit from an indexation of 3.86% in pensions. The package of laws was approved by the Government on September 8. In parallel with the indexation, those who get old-age pensions lower than 2,000 lei will receive higher pensions, said Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița, being quoted by IPN.
The indexation of 3.86% means a pension of 3,500 lei will rise by 135 lei.
The minimum pension for pensioners with a full insurance period will be 2,000 lei. This way, for 183,000 pensioners, the average rise will be 366 lei.
For pensioners who do not have an insurance period, the minimum pension will rise proportionally to the length of their insurance period. As many as 125,000 persons will get an average rise of 398 lei in pensions.
The cost of the rise in pensions in 2021 is 521 million lei. In 2022, the cost was estimated at 2.1 billion lei. The rise is covered with national budget funds.
For 84,000 recipients of social benefits and disability allowances whose size depends on the value of the minimum pension, the rise will be 450 lei on average.
The allowance for severe disability will increase from 1,097 to 1,500 lei for 3,000 persons. The allowance for accentuated disability will rise from 992 to 1,400 lei, for 22,000 persons, while over 10,000 recipients will get an allowance for disability that will rise from 722 to 1,000 lei on average.
The social allowance for 71,000 people will rise from 703 to 1,180 lei.
The Government also decided that the monthly insured income for the non-contributive period of looking after a person with a severe disability younger than 18 or of a persons with severe disability by one of the parents or a guardian, before they get employed as personal assistants, will be determined by taking into account the average monthly salary when calculating the pension. Currently, the pension is calculated according to the minimum monthly salary that is 1,000 lei.
