Persons with pensions and state allowances not exceeding 2000 lei a month will be able to draw a one-time social benefit of 700 lei. The initiative, announced by authorities two weeks ago, was approved today by the Government, IPN reports.

According to the calculations, 591 thousand people will receive this one-time benefit, including 403 thousand old age pensioners. The expenses will exceed 417 million lei.

The bill is to be passed by the Parliament and will become effective on January 1, 2020. The one-time financial support will be paid to the beneficiaries until the end of 2020.
