The Economy Ministry anticipates that benefits of 1.3 billion lei will be gained from the implementation of the consumer protection strategy for 2013-2020 that was approved by the Government on June 26, IPN reports.
Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar said that one of the goals is to decrease % the risk of delivering dangerous products on the market and the number of transactions that can cause damage by at least 10.
The strategy envisions carrying out programs to educate and inform the consumers about their rights and the businesses about the applicable requirements, trading rules and rules of selling products and providing services.
In order to achieve the objectives, there was worked out a plan of action for implementing the consumer protection strategy for 2013-2020. The actions in the plan are divided for every objective separately.
The strategy will be implemented at a cost of over 5.7 million lei.
