The Government approved and will remit to Parliament a bill by which the national exams on the graduation of programs of study in secondary education, the session of 2020, are annulled. According to the authorities, the decision was influenced by the epidemiological situation following the spread of COVID-19, IPN reports.
Minister of Education, Culture and Research Igor Sharov said the students who this year graduate the ninth grade with average annual grades in school subjects will be issued with a secondary education certificate. The grades in exams will be calculated based on the grades obtained during the seventh-ninth grades.
The students who this year complete the twelfth grade with annual average grades in the school subjects and the general average grade higher or equal to “five will be issued with a Baccalaureate diploma that enables to apply to higher and post-secondary technical professional education institutions. The grades in exams will be calculated based on the grades obtained during the tenth-twelfth grades (first-third years of study in post-secondary technical professional education).
The minister noted the Baccalaureate diploma will have the same legal value for the national and foreign higher education establishments, if a relevant Parliament decision is adopted.
