Government approves amendments to state social insurance budget for 2009
The executive approved modifications to the state social insurance budget for 2009. The amendments provide for the redistribution of the money in certain areas, said Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The necessity of redistributing the money is determined by the insufficiency of financial resources for paying unemployment benefits, social insurance contributions for the unemployed and monthly childcare allowances for children younger than three, the minister said,
Valentina Buliga also said that the money planned for the entire year had been spent during nine months and October, November and December remained uncovered. Thus, it was proposed increasing the Fund for the Protection of Families with Children by 35.4 million lei, to 174.7 million lei.
The volume of childcare allowances for children younger than three is to be raised from 122.6 million lei to 158 million lei, given that the number of beneficiaries rose to 28,800, as against 27,878 planned. The average size of the allowance will be increased to 489 lei, as opposed to 366 lei projected initially.
The Unemployment Fund of 25.78 million lei will be augmented to 46.1 million lei given that the number of recipients of unemployment benefits increased significantly this year. In the first half of this year, the number of beneficiaries was 5,471 or 94% of the number approved for the whole year.
The Health Recovery Fund will be reduced from 109.6 million lei to 73.1 million lei. There will be decreased the costs for treatment in health spas and rehabilitation of insured persons.
The spending on the organization of the public social insurance system will be diminished by 19.2 million lei, to 220.9 million lei.
