A series of cultural and artistic events will take place in Chisinau on August 27, when Moldova will celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the proclamation of Independence.
The program of festivities will begin with flower-laying ceremonies at the monuments of ruler Stephen the Great and the Sorrowful Mother.
The inauguration ceremony of the National Holiday Independence Day will begin in the Great National Assembly Square at 10:00 a.m., with the participation of the country's leadership.
Throughout the day, a concert will be held in the Great National Assembly Square, featuring the Presidential Orchestra, the Orchestra of the General Carabinieri Inspectorate and the Border Police Band.
Other performers include the National Ballet Joc, the Folk Ensemble Romanița, folk bands from around the country, the Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic, the National Folk Music Orchestra Lăutarii, artists from the country and abroad. The celebration will culminate with a round dance.
Meanwhile, between 12.00 and 16.00, on the lawn behind the Government building, the event “Talking to the citizens” will take place, during which Prime Minister Dorin Recean, members of the Cabinet of Ministers and heads of state agencies will talk with citizens about government programs and the importance of everyone’s involvement in the development of a prosperous state.
Also on August 27, festivities dedicated to Independence Day will be organized across the country.
