Representatives of the Government and the Prosecutor General’s Office will be questioned in Parliament over the supply of food products to schools and kindergartens next week, IPN reports.
The questioning was suggested on November 10 by Socialist MP Radu Mudreac, who headed the special commission that was constituted following rigging of tender contests and cases of poisonings last yearend. According to the MP, the two institutions are to present information about the taken measures given that related irregularities continue to be identified.
The Socialist parliamentary group insisted that the hearings should be held today, November 10, but the MPs decided that these will be staged next week so that the representatives of the Government and the Prosecutor General’s Office have time to prepare.
The special parliamentary commission was set up after 16 persons, nine of whom public functionaries of education divisions, last November were arrested on suspicion of fixing tender contests when purchasing food products for schools and kindergartens of Chisinau. It was then determined that business entities supplied products of a lower quality than the one indicated in the signed contracts.
