The Government on Wednesday approved modifications to the 2014-2016 National Action Plan to implement Moldova's Association Agreement with the European Union, IPN reports.

“Following these amendments, Moldova will considerably advance towards meeting the conditions required by the transition to the final stage of the European integration process”, stated Natalia Gherman, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
 

The plan includes 430 actions that seek in particular to harmonize Moldova's laws with European rules and practices. Among its priorities are amending the Constitution, aligning the Criminal Code with the international standards, and developing a policy to strengthen ties between the two sides of the Nistru.

In implementing the Association Agreement and related actions, Moldova will have the support of the EU and its development partners, say the authorities.
