Government allocates 200m lei for raising registered capital of BEM

The registered capital of Banca de Economii of Moldova (BEM) will be increased by 200 million lei. The Government approved a bill with relevant amendments to the 2013 state budget law, Info-Prim Neo reports. The executive suggests investing 200 million lei in the registered capital of the BEM. This sum was planned in the state budget law for redeeming converted state securities that are in the portfolio of the National Bank of Moldova. The minimum capital at Banca de Economii, required by the National Bank of Moldova, is 355 million lei. The sum of 200 million lei represents the shares that will be subscribed by the state, according to its shareholding of 56.13% in the bank. The rest of the money in the registered capital is to be paid by the other shareholders, said Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta.
