Government accuses the Kremlin of artificially creating crisis in Transnistrian region

The crisis on the left bank of the Nistru was artificially created by the Russian Federation, which will later assume the role of "savior", and the inhabitants of the Transnistrian region are used in a geopolitical game, the Government’s spokesman Daniel Vodă stated in the program “Notka", quoted by IPN.

Daniel Vodă spoke about the phases of the Kremlin's strategy. "The first phase - creating a problem, the second - intensifying fear, depriving the people of electricity and heat, and the third – appearing as a "savior". It is a classical scenario of Russian propaganda," said the Government’s spokesman.

This scenario is not new and every time Moscow wants to show its strength – it cuts off vital resources, turning ordinary people into hostages, stated Daniel Vodă.

He noted that the people living on the left bank of the Nistru are affected by Russian propaganda, which aims to blame Chisinau, Ukraine, Europe and the West. Vodă believes that "in this way, attention is distracted from the real source of the problem."

Daniel Vodă said that the Transnistria press, "even if it denigrates and lies daily," can move freely on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, while journalists from the right bank do not have the possibility to freely enter the Transnistrian region.

After the gas supplies to the Transnistrian region were stopped on January 1, the Moldovan authorities offered humanitarian aid, such as generators, warm blankets and food to the region, while access to jobs and medical services on the right bank was ensured, the Government’s spokesman added.
