Government accused of interference in City Council’s affairs
Councilman Oleg Cernei of the Moldova Noastra Alliance Party accuses the Government of interference in the activity of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) and urges the Mayor General, as well as the departments for Culture and for Financial Management, to take a stance against the governmental decision to transfer the Creation Centre “The Moldovan Village Buciumul” under the subordination of the Ministry of Culture.
Oleg Cernei doubts the legality of the governmental decision, given that Buciumul is the City Council’s property. “Nobody has the right to transfer the building on Alexandru cel Bun Street to the Ministry of Culture”, the councilman said.
The Government ordered the founding of the State Enterprise “The Moldovan Village Buciumul” some four weeks ago. The Ministry of Culture was empowered to act as founder, and charged to work out within 3 months the founding papers and the acts for the transmission of the estate under the ministry’s subordination.
During a working meeting held at the President’s Office in late 2006, it was decided that the constructions at the Buciumul should be finished by October 1, 2007. The cost of the project was estimated at 80 million lei, supposed to be provided by both the local and central budgets.
