The DORfest festival will take place in Gordinesti village of Edinet district on September 9 and 10, on the initiative of number of public associations and local authorities, IPN reports.
DORfest is organized under the aegis of the tourist country brand “Life Tree”. Three communities of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine will be twinned in the event. Those who want to take part in DORfest can travel by personal cars. Parking is free. The participants can put on national costumes if they want. The event’s décor was designed by Tatiana Drobot from recycled materials and includes things gathered through the village. There will be six recreational areas.
Two tens were put up in the green area of the festival. These include TV sets to watch short educative movies about life in local communities and the European and U.S. investments in the region. The participants will receive local newspapers with information about success stories of people in northern Moldova.
A visit to the natural reserve “Castel” will be made at 1pm on September 9. At 9am on September 10, the organizers will stage a trip to the reserve and to two local quarries.
Among the artists who will perform at DORfest are Denis Midone, Stefan Albu, 7 Klase, Heart Drops, Daniel Balan from Romania, Maria Iliut, Gabriel Nebunu and Vasile Iovu. The Brass Band of the Border Police, folk ensemble “Plaiesii”, Comedy Zebra Show, the band “Gandul Matei” and RUGParty with DJ USG will also be present on the stage. Photographer Victor Detto will catch the most beautiful moments of the event.
The festival is organized by the public association “Ecolanima” in cooperation with The Hurricane agency, with support from the Edinet District Council, Edinet mayor’s office and Gordinesti mayor’s office. The strategic partners include USAID and the Government of Sweden, the Ministry of Culture, the Border Police and Tourism Agency.
