Three people were arrested for 30 days for smuggling consumer goods. The goods, estimated at about 900,000 lei, originated from the "KM7" market in Odessa, Ukraine. The suspects were detained by Customs Service officers, Intelligence and Security Service agents and Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases employees.

According to case file materials, the seized goods were smuggled into the country through the Transnistrian region and stored in Security Zone locations. From there, the goods were transported by other members of the smuggling ring, by circumventing internal customs control posts, to the territory controlled by the constitutional authorities of Moldova.

Law enforcement officials carried out ten searches at several addresses in Căușeni. In addition to consumer goods worth about 900,000 lei, three vehicles used for smuggling were seized.
