The freshly appointed Moldova manager Gabi Balint will be able to count on most Moldovan footballers playing in the Russian championship, after the Russian Football Union at a recent meeting decided to leave the definition of “foreign player” unchanged, Info-Prim Neo reports. Most Moldovan footballers in Russia hold Russian passports as well, and there were fears that new rules would be introduced to oblige them to give up playing for Moldova. Six valuable Moldovan footballers are currently playing in Russia's Premier League.
