After picketing the Government and discussing with the Premier’s adviser, employees of the Glodeni sugar factory continued the protest in front of the Economic Court of Appeals, demanding that the outstanding salaries be paid and the charges against the trade union leaders be dropped, Info-Prim Neo reports. Former employee of the factory Anatolie Furtuna said he has not received his salary for over a year. The workers are afraid that the factory’s administration will sell illegally the sugar that is stored at the factory and has been sequestrated and there will be no money for their pays. Another protester Oleg Strogus said the people will continue to block access to the factory so as to prevent the sugar from being taken out and will protest until their demands are satisfied. Former accountant of the factory Tatiana Stelea said the employees demand that the president of the Economic Court of Appeals Aureliu Colenco order convening the meeting of the creditors that is delayed, according to the protesters. The Glodeni sugar factory is in the process of insolvency. Commenting on employees’ protests, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said the Government will get involved and will try to solve workers’ problems within possibilities.
