A post chief of the Glodeni Police Commissariat was charged with abuse of power. The court punished him with a fine of 8,000 lei and banned him from holding posts in the Ministry of the Interior during a three-year period, IPN has learned from the Prosecutor General’s Office.

According to the prosecutors in Glodeni, being in his office, the policeman ill-treated a man, beating him with the nightstick because the latter came to him with delay.

The prosecutors announced they will challenge the decision in a higher court and will ask for a harsher punishment.
