The leader of the Party of Change Ștefan Gligor and Veaceslav Platon, the representative of independent candidate Veaceslav Velico, exchanged harsh replies in a new round of electoral debates at ProTV Chisinau. Gligor accused Platon of involvement in resonant cases, while Platon aimed his rhetoric at President Maia Sandu, accusing her of incompetence and Gligor of dancing to her tune, IPN reports.
Ștefan Gligor noted that the justice sector reform is the priority of his party as such persons as Veaceslav Platon should stay in jail.
“Platon is an international criminal covered by the current Prosecutor General, who helped him obtain acquittal in a number of cases. Platon is a qualified liar. His intelligence is yet much underappreciated if he, until the age of 48, could not learn the language of the state he robbed. When the reforms we aim to do produce effects, such person as Platon will give speeches in Penitentiary No. 13,” Ștefan Gligor stated in the electoral debates “You vote for you on ProTV”.
Attending the debates as the representative of independent candidate Veaceslav Velico, Platon refused to respond to the accusations that he was involved in the Russian Laundromat, but didn’t miss the chance to make accusations against President Sandu, accusing her of interference in the judiciary.
“Maia Sandu does not differ from Plahotniuc when she promotes the European values and simultaneously acts impudently against the law and the Constitution. Plahotniuc at least realized what he was doing, while Sandu does not. I’m not interested in the accusations made against me. I accept to be named the worst person on Earth,” stated Veaceslav Platon.
Platon’s rhetoric against President Sandu was shared by the representative of the “New Historical Option” Party.
“Maia Sandu does not have powers to intervene in the work of the executive. For now she made only populist statements. She asserted she will close Ilan Shor’s Duty Free shops, but we see that she took over and manages further what was built by Plahotniuc,” stated Svetlana Chesari, president of the “New Historical Option” Party.
The representative of the Working People’s Party said that he does not have any official income and will make his property public after the snap parliamentary elections.
“I live on the money I gained abroad during 25 years. I didn’t declare what I own as all my incomes were earned abroad. I didn’t want to make public the property of my family. Unlike other politicians who hide their possessions and present sterile document to us, I have what to declare, but I will not do it now,” said Igor Cujba, a candidate for MP on the list of the Working People Party.
