"Give us Parliament and we will give you Europe," Mihai Ghimpu

“Give us the Parliament and we will give you Europe,” the chairman of the Liberal Party (PL) Mihai Ghimpu said in a ceremony held to open the party’s election campaign. The amendment of the Constitution, completion of the examination of the April 7 case, removal of the communism and fighting of corruption are the priorities stated by the PL. Its slogan is: “Support the change until the end. All for Europe - Europe for all,” Info-Prim Neo reports. Mihai Ghimpu said the initiated change must be completed and 2010 should be the year when communism will be eradicated. PL first deputy chairman Dorin Chirtoaca said that a movement was born several years ago, which aims to defend the language, nation and the people. “Our duty is to protect the country,” he stated. The party’s deputy chairman Ion Hadarca urged the voters to take a decision that will be to the country’s benefit. “After November 28, Europe might turn its back to us if we change our way. All for Europe and Europe for all – this is the course that we must all follow,” he said. PL deputy chairwoman Corina Fusu said the Liberal Party means freedom, dignity, honesty and respect. “We knew to encourage the people and drive away the fear to say “yes” to a European future, democracy and prosperity. Now we will win because we are together,” she said. The PL started its election campaign at Soroca Fortress on October 24.
