A 10-year-old girl died on Wednesday morning when she was hit by a car on her way to school in the village of Baurci in Ceadâr-Lunga district, IPN reports.
According to preliminary information, the driver, a 74-year-old man, lost control of the car and struck the child. The impact was violent and the minor died on the spot.
The police determined that the driver was not intoxicated at the time of the accident.
A criminal case was started and the man is in the custody of the authorities.
