The four-year-old girl who was hurt in the road accident in Bahmut feels well. She remained at the Mother and Child Institute, but was transferred to the Neurosurgery Unit.
Contacted by IPN for details, spokesman for the Mother and Child Institute Maxim Cazacu said the patient is conscious. She was transferred to the Neurosurgery Unit for rehabilitation. No surgeries have been planned so far.
The girl’s grandfather stays at the Traumatology and Orthopedics Clinical Hospital of Chisinau. The institution’s spokeswoman Rodica Racu has told IPN that the man’s state is serious, but stable. He suffered an associated trauma, a closed head trauma and a concussion and also an open fracture of the right femur. The man is being prepared for surgery.
The accident in Bahmut village of Călărași district occurred on October 21. A car driven by a prosecutor struck violently a cart. As a result, a child aged several months, his mother and grandmother died. A young man who was initially reported to be the children’s father also died in the road accident. Sources in the Bahmut mayor’s office have told IPN that the man is actually a relative, while the child’s father recently returned from abroad. Only the grandparents had the residence in the locality as the family was from another village. The prosecutor was remanded in custody.
