Liberal Party leader Mihai Ghimpu suggests that the opening of a Russian consulate in Tiraspol will lead to the dissolution of the ruling AIE coalition, Info-Prim Neo reports. “There won't be any consulate there. How can a consulate be opened in an occupied territory which is not under the control of the legitimate authorities? They've got to be kidding. If some of us are making decisions at will violating the Alliance's agreement, it means that there is no Alliance”, Mihai Ghimpu told a press conference. Earlier Prime Minister and leader of the Liberal-Democratic Party Vlad Filat stated that the opening of a Russian consulate in the Transnistrian region would be possible, provided that security and diplomatic immunity can be guaranteed to its staff.
