The Liberal Party (PL) is determined not to vote for Vlad Filat as Prime Minister. The party’s head Mihai Ghimpu said the European officials do not want Filat to head the new Government either, IPN reports.
In a news conference on April 16, the Liberal leader said that during a visit he made to Brussels, a European official asked his opinion about the appointment of acting Foreign Minister Iurie Leanca as head of Government. Mihai Ghimpu said the PL may support Iurie Leanca if it’s convinced that he didn’t support Vlad Filat’s decision to withdraw from the alliance constitution agreement.
The Liberal leader also said that Vlad Filat is guided in his actions by Moscow. His former party colleagues who said they want the PL to be reformed were bought by Russia too.
Last week, a group of heavyweights of the PL, including seven MPs, said they want the party to be reformed and proposed Dorin Chirtoaca for the party’s leadership. Mihai Ghimpu said all the heads of the local organizations returned to the party, except for four whom he does not intend to forgive. He will also not forgive MPs Ion Hadarca, Oleg Bodrug, and Ana Gutu
