The president of the Supreme Court of Justice Ion Muruianu risks being discharged by Parliament the second time. In a news conference on September 15, Acting President and Head of Parliament Mihai Ghimpu said he ordered drafting a decision to dismiss again Ion Muruianu, but is yet to consult his colleagues from the governing alliance, Info-Prim Neo reports. Mihai Ghimpu aims to fire Ion Muruianu's assistants Natalia Moldovanu and Nina Cernat as well. He said he is not satisfied with the work of the Supreme Council of Magistrates, which allowed that Muruianu be reinstated and does not take steps to punish the corrupt judges. “We expected that the Council will decide what we should do with the court presidents, but nothing has been done. The judges continue to obey those who named them to posts, the Communists,” Mihai Ghimpu said. Ion Muruianu was discharged from the post of president of the Supreme Court of Justice this March over the multiple cases lost by Moldova at the European Court of human Rights and for naming the journalists “rabid dogs that are dangerous for the society.” Shortly afterward, the Constitutional Court reinstated Ion Muruianu in his post.
