Ghimpu invites Basescu to Chisinau
Moldova's ad-interim president Mihai Ghimpu invited Romanian president Traian Basescu in an official letter to visit Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the Moldovan presidential press service.
In his invitation, Mihai Ghimpu says that the year 2009 has opened broad prospects for developing the relationship between Chisinau and Bucharest. The prospective visit is intended to identify new opportunities for bilateral cooperation and ways of using them to full advantage.
“I am confident that during this visit we will have the possibility to discuss new modalities of strengthening and extending bilateral cooperation, to the benefit of the citizens on both sides of the Prut, to make an ample exchange of opinions about the democratic processes occurring in the Republic of Moldova, and to agree on new steps by Romania in support of our efforts towards the achievement of the strategic goal that we have set – the European integration”, Mihai Ghimpu was quoted by the presidential press service as saying.
