Ghimpu goes to Moscow and will thank Medvedev for invitation to parade
Moldova's Acting President will take part in the CIS Summit that will be held in Moscow on May 8. Mihai Ghimpu announced his decision during a press briefing on April 30, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The head of state said he took the decision when he was returning from the official visit to Romania. He said that when going from Ungheni to Chisinau, he meditated what to do and decided to go to Moscow.
Mihai Ghimpu also said that he will thank Russian President Dmitry Medvedev for the invitation to the May 9 parade, but will tell him that he wants to be near the World War II veterans in Chisinau on the Victory Day.
Mihai Ghimpu stressed that a head of state must be near his people on such important days as the Victory Day.
