The inhabitants of Ghetlova village of Orhei district, Glinjeni village of Fălești district and Zastânca village of Soroca district, where mayoral runoffs were held on Sunday, elected their mayors. The elections in the first village were won by Șor Party’s candidate, in the second – by Our Party’s candidate, while in the third by the Bloc of Communists and Socialists, IPN reports.
According to the Central Election Commission, in Ghetlova village, 468 of the 918 electors who cast their ballots voted for Anastasia Svetlichnyi, who was fielded by Șor Party, while the rest for her challenger of the Party of Action and Solidarity Elena Gîrneț. In the first round of voting, the first candidate won 381 votes, while the second - 233 votes.
In Glinjeni, 612 of the 1,063 citizens who took part in elections voted for Viorel Zarija, who represented Our Party. Independent candidate Dumitru Dombrovschi gained 451 votes. In the first round, Dumitru Dombrovschi won 252 votes, while Our Party’s representative - 571 votes.
In Zastânca village, out of 696 voters who cast their ballots, 455 voted for Valeriu Kovalchuk, who was put forward by the Bloc of Communists and Socialists. Sergei Purici, of Șor Party, polled 241 votes. In the first round, Valeriu Kovalchuk won 325 votes, while his challenger of Șor Party - 163 votes.
CEC warns that the information provided before the receipt of the documents in the original from the inferior electoral bodies is preliminary in character.
The first round of the snap mayoral elections was held on May 29. As a result of two rounds of voting, the Bloc of Communists and Socialists won three seats of mayor, the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova – two seats, while the Party of Action and Solidary, the People Power Party, the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”, Șor Party and Our Party – by one seat.
