Gheorghe Zamfir to play panflute on Chisinau's day

On Tuesday, October 14, as Chisinau will celebrate its holiday, the great Romanian panflute player Gheorghe Zamfir will play fore the first time on the Great National Assembly Square, as he promised last summer. He could not come to Chisinau on the Language Day, August 31, after a road accident in Romania, Info-Prim Neo reports. The holiday will start by laying flowers to the monument to ruler Stefan the Great and Saint at 8.00. At 8.30, a liturgy will be officiated at Lord's Birth Cathedral. The official opening will be started by congratulation messages by General Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca and by Metropolitan Bishop Vladimir at 11.00. At 11.30, the laureates of choir festival “A ruginit frunza din vii” will enter the Great National Assembly Square, and at 12.30 dance ensembles will start to perform. At 14.00, composer Eugen Doga will perform for two hours in Stefan cel Mare Public Garden. From 17.00 to 21.00, singers will perform in the Great National Assembly Square. After 15 minutes of fireworks starting at 21.00, Dan Balan will perform marking his 10 years of artistic career. Dances will follow.
