Germany provides flood cleanup assistance to Moldova

The Federal Government of Germany will give over €300,000 to Moldova to help alleviate the consequences of floods. The project has been launched on September 1 and is implemented by the German association Caritas (DCV) in cooperation with Caritas Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the German Embassy. The financial assistance will go to the villages of Hancesti district that were worst hit by floods. It will be used to reconstruct a medical care unit and a kindergarten destroyed during the floods. The number of places at the kindergarten will be increased from 50 to 75. Agreements will be signed with the mayor to make sure that all the costs of maintaining the institutions in the future will be covered by the village. The residents of the affected villages will be also provided with seeds and fodder. Germany earlier provided a batch of humanitarian aid for the flood-hit areas. During the traditional summer concert, the German Embassy collected funds for outfitting a kindergarten.
