Germany offers €300,000 to help Moldova cope with consequences of summer floods

The Federal Government of Germany is offering €300,000 for a project intended to help Moldova overcome the consequences of the flooding events this summer. The project is implemented by the Christian charitable organizations Caritas Germany and Caritas Moldova, the German Embassy in Chisinau said in a press release, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. According to the press release, distribution of fodder and seed has already started in the affected areas. Additionally, the medical unit and the kindergarten in Oblieni village will be fully renovated. Julia Kahrl, deputy head of the diplomatic mission, said that German aid was distributed in the affected areas in July too. “I am very pleased that the German Government in partnership with Caritas can further offer concrete and sustainable help to the people affected by the floods”, said Julia Kahrl. The aid is destined for the heavily affected communities in the district of Hincesti, located near the border with Romania, in particular the villages of Obileni, Nemteni and Cotul Morii.
