The Government of Germany invests €9 million in the designing and building of a new wastewater treatment station in Cahul district. The new station will serve Cahul town and the neighboring villages Cotihana, Roșu, Crihana Veche. The designing and building works will last for two years, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the representative office of the German bank KfW in Chisinau.
The construction of the wastewater treatment station is one of the major goals of the Water Supply and Sewerage in Cahul District Project that has a total budget of €36.5 million. The Government of Germany offers a grant of €23.5 million, while the European Union provides a grant of €13 million through KfW.
On April 30, 2022, Moldova and Germany will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations. Since the Republic of Moldova declared its independence, Germany has offered over €150 million in technical and financial assistance to Moldova.
