Germany increases financial support for Moldova by €7m

Germany decided to increase the financial support provided to the Republic of Moldova to overcome the current crisis and to implement development projects by €7 million. The sum now totals €47 million. The announcement was made in a meeting of Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița with German Development Minister Svenja Schulze, IPN reports.

The interlocutors discussed the agenda of cooperation between the two states, in particular the assistance for enterprises and investments (FACEM Fund for Entrepreneurship and Growth). “We appreciate the fact that Germany continues to stand by us in the process of transforming our country into a European state and we bank on cooperation that will help to build the resilience of the Republic of Moldova. We aim to be not only a consumer, but also a supplier of security and stability in the EU space,” said Premier Gavrilița.

The two officials discussed the combating of the consequences of the hybrid war, the reforms initiated in the field of justice and the fight against corruption and the projects to develop localities and communities, including with Germany’s support, within the national program “European Village”.

The German Development Minister Svenja Schulze appreciated Moldova’s efforts and the openness shown by its citizens to lend a hand to the Ukrainian refugees who fled from the war in their country.
