German students impressed by Moldova

The German students who have taken part in a summer school in Chisinau said they have much better impressions of Moldova than they expected before coming to the country, Info-Prim Neo reports. On September 8, the German students had an international dialogue with young people studying at the Humanitarian Sciences Faculty of the Slavonic University in Chisinau. They talked to the university’s rector, put questions about the student life in Moldova and related their experiences at European universities. The German young persons said they knew practically nothing about Moldova before visiting it and they did not have great expectations. But they discovered many nice people here and took part in interesting events that helped them learn Romanian and find out new things. The participants in the summer school visited the Slavonic University in Chisinau, where there study young people of different ethnic groups who speak Russian. “Our students are Russian speakers, but they learn the official language. Our university enables them to have an exciting student life, realize their potential and promote their ethnic customs and traditions,” rector of the Slavonic University Tatiana Mlechko said in a meeting with the German students. During the third two-week summer school themed “Human Rights”, which was held at the Romanian Language House “Nichita Stanescu”, the German students have visited governmental and nongovernmental institutions in Moldova. They analyze the situation of human rights in Moldova and study the Romanian language.
