Political analyst Arcadie Barbarosie believes that Moldovan politicians should re-read the German Chancellor’s speech tens of times. Angela Merkel clearly stated what Moldova has to do for European Integration. The analyst told Info-Prim Neo that the German Chancellor’s visit is indeed an historic one, since a person of such rank does not do tourism while exercising their function, especially when we speak about Germans, who are known for their correctness. Arcadie Barbarosie mentioned that the official had a very clear message, namely that Germany is at the Moldova’s side on its European path and the resolution of the Transnistrian conflict. “We will help you, and through us, the European Union will also help you. Everything depends on you. You need to do your homework”, cited Arcadie Barbarosie from German Chancellor’s speech, highlighting that Angela Merkel pointed in this direction diplomatically, but firmly. It is about the European values that Moldova must take on its path. These are human rights, freedom of expression, freedom of speech, uncorrupted society and governance, fair justice, rule of Law – things that politicians mention in their speeches, but forget about them when they are not in front of the cameras, or when they have already accomplished their Party’s interests, the political analyst remarked. Arcadie Barbarosie added that the message is important through the fact that it was specified that Germany will increase the volume of financial assistance for Moldova, but everything depends on us, our society and our leaders.
