“Geox”, one of the biggest footwear producers of the world intends to open in Chisinau a footwear factory. Investment intentions were presented on Monday, September 18 by a delegation of the aforementioned company, which was headed by Mario Moretti Pelegato, at a meeting with the representatives of the Government and City Hall of the municipality of Chisinau. At the meeting with the PM Vasile Tarlev and with the interim mayor of Chisinau, Vasile Ursu, the Italian businessmen remarked that the geo-political location of the Republic of Moldova is very favorable for the implementation of investment projects, mentioning at the same time about the attractive conditions created for investors. The prime-minister confirmed the availability of the Government for an efficient collaboration on implementing projects in different fields of the national economy. He pleaded in favor of implementing joint investment projects. The head of the Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and European Integration Department of Chisinau, Ion Capatina told Info-Prim Neo that this company has already opened 3 stores. After its inauguration, the footwear factory will collaborate with “Zorile” factory. About 1500 work places are planned to be created in the enterprise and the intention of the Italian businessmen is to hire only young persons, whom they plan to instruct in Moldova, Capatina added. “Geox” has produced subsidiaries in 28 countries of the world and its production is sold in 68 countries.
