Georgia Speaker to visit Moldova for the first time

Georgian parliamentary Speaker David Usupashvili will be in Chisinau on Tuesday, April 29, on the invitation of his Moldovan counterpart Igor Corman. This is the first official visit by a Georgian Speaker of Parliament to Moldova in the two decades long relationship between our nations, IPN reports.

The Moldovan Parliament said in a press release that the agenda will include an official meeting with Speaker Igor Corman, followed by a press briefing. David Usupashvili will also meet with President Nicolae Timofti, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and Foreign Minister Natalia Gherman.

Discussions will focus on the priorities of the Moldovan and Georgian European agendas and on actions to intensify bilateral cooperation.

The Georgian parliamentary delegation to Chisinau will also include Deputy Speaker Zviad Dzidziguri, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee Tedo Japaridze, Chair of the European Integration Committee Victor Dolidze, the head of the Georgia-Moldova parliamentary friendship group Makhir Darziev, and Giorgi Vashadze, a member of the friendship group.
