George W. Bush pleads in favor of Moldova’s territorial integrity

The USA supports the territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova, American president George W. Bush declared on July 27 at a meting with the Romanian president, Traian Basescu, who visits the USA for the second time. According to foreign media, after the discussions in the Oval Office with his Romanian counterpart, Bush declared that concerning the Black Sea issue: “We discussed about the neighboring region (of Romania) and we assured that the standpoint of USA regarding Moldova is of supporting Moldova’s territorial integrity. Traian Basescu spoke about that the necessity of fencing Moldova from foreign influence. The collocutors agreed on the negative impact of the military presence of the Russian Federation in the zone of the Transnistrian conflict. According reporters from Washington, Bush showed willingness to consider the subject of circulating without visas in the United States. US President declared that in his country the immigration issue is seriously debated and he intends to propose to several countries to elaborate traveling warrants that could lead in time to canceling visas. President Basescu assured Bush that Romanians are no more interested in illegal immigration and this fact is tested in Europe. “Basescu is a friend of mine, our countries are friends”, Bush said. President Traian Basescu pays an official visit to USA honoring the invitation of his American counterpart, George W. Bush.
