George Balan will substitute Victor Osipov during election campaign

The deputy head of Moldova's Reintegration Office George Balan might be named in the place of Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov for the period of the election campaign. Osipov was included in the Moldova Noastra Alliance's list of candidates for the November 28 early legislative elections, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference on October 12, the Deputy Prime Minister said he will further act as Moldova's political representative to the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks in the 5+2 format because this is not a public post. On October 28-30, Victor Osipov will go to Slovakia to discuss crossborder cooperation-related issues, at the invitation of the Foreign Ministers of Slovakia and Ukraine. Osipov said the election campaign on the right bank of the Nistru ends on November 28, but it will be followed by a new campaign on the left bank that will close on December 12. That's why it is very important to ensure stability in the region. The military observers of the peacekeeping mission were unable to travel to the scene and document the arrest of the two officers of Moldova's Department of Penitentiary Institutions in Bender. Victor Osipov stressed he will quit as Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration for the period of the election campaign so as not to use administrative resources as other election contenders do. He said some of the contenders misuse the humanitarian aid intended for flood victims, but did not give details.
