Members of the public are encouraged to lend a hand in the “General Spring Cleanup” in Chisinau’s parks on Saturday, April 13. Ion Burdiumov, head of the Public Amenities Directorate, says that if the weather is fine the effort will cover 15 parks.
Volunteers will be equipped with gloves and bags for collecting waste, such as plastic, paper and discarded pouches. The waste will be then taken to the sorting facility on Uzinelor Street. All those interested should show up starting at 10:00 a.m.
The General Spring Cleanup, taking place during March 4 - April 26, will also include an effort to clean up yards of apartment blocks on April 20.
Ion Burdiumov also that the Directorate expects new additions to its tractor fleet by the end of April. Additionally, a tender will be held to buy dump trucks for improving the efficiency of cleaning up bus and trolleybus stops.
