The general cleanup campaign begins in the municipality of Chisinau next week. The activities within the cleanup campaign will last until the start of April. In the period, the municipal subdivisions are to clean the managed areas. An order to this effect was signed by acting mayor of Chisinau Silvia Radu, IPN reports.

The Public Amenities Division is to carry out general manual and mechanical repair works on areas of common use, such as sidewalks, public transport stations and household waste collection platforms.

The Division is also responsible for the cleaning of poles and walls of unauthorized notices based on service provision contracts signed with municipal enterprises, and for the monitoring of cleanup works in yards of apartment buildings, including playgrounds and green areas administered by housing sector managers and can impose fines if necessary.

The Division will also organize activities to separately collect used electrical and electronic equipment and batteries and accumulators from the population, organizations and companies.

The spring cleanup campaign is carried out between February 26 and April 6.
