On April 16 all the people in Moldova are invited to take part in a general clean-up action themed “Hai, Moldova!”. Daniela Cibotari, member of the initiative group, stated on Wednesday at the launch press conference that this is not an exclusive effort of one particular organization, but “a common initiative for the country”, Info-Prim Neo reports. The first phase of the action involves developing an on-line map of unauthorized wasted dumps, after which on a Saturday, April 16, volunteers will be invited to get involved in the clean-up effort. Anyone interested can become a volunteer: local authorities, private companies, NGOs, media organizations, public figures and common people, said Daniela Cibotari. Environment Deputy Minister Rodion Bajureanu described the project “Hai, Moldova!” as an ambitious one, praising the initiative group for courage and promising official support. So far, 35 private companies have pledged support to the project. Other actors include: 21 NGOs, 7 youth organizations, 5 universities, 7 public institutions, the Chisinau government, the Moldovan Government, including the Ministry of Youth and Sport, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Defense, local authorities in 5 districts, 5 TV channels, 7 radio stations, and the Independent Journalism Center.
