General Assembly of Judges put off

The Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM) on November 29 decided to postpone the General Assembly of Judges that was set for December 3, IPN reports.

SCM acting president Dorel Musteață made reference to an answer received from the National Public Health Agency, which said that the COVID-19 prevention measures remain in force and conferences or events of the kind can be held if they involve at most 150 persons in closed spaces and 200 persons in open spaces, in both of the cases with the mandatory presentation of COVID certificates.

“The Agency recommended holding the General Assembly of Judges online. Given such a recommendation and the fact that the holding of the General Assembly of Judges online is now impossible, the staging of the event should be put off,” said Dorel Musteață. Another date wasn’t arranged.

This is not the first time that the General Assembly of Judges is postponed due to the epidemiological situation. Recently, the Superior Council of Prosecutors also transferred the General Assembly of Prosecutors. The terms in office of the members of both of the Councils are coming to an end.
