The Office for European Integration will be headed by Genady Marian as from March 1. The announcement was made by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gerasimov at the Cabinet’s ordinary meeting, IPN reports.

“Genady Marian started his professional activity within the diplomatic service of the Republic of Moldova in 2016. During his career, he worked in the field of European integration, both within the central staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and for the Republic of Moldova’s Mission to the EU. In 2023, he held the position of Secretary of State for Transport at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development,” stated Cristina Gerasimov.

In the same meeting, the Cabinet approved the resignation of Cristina Gerasimov from the post of Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the resignation of Rodica Crudu from the post of Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The latter was appointed Secretary of State of the Government.

The executive also approved the appointment of Carolina Perebinos as Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Carolina Perebinos has 26 years’ experience in the diplomatic service and holds the diplomatic rank of Minister Plenipotentiary.

During her tenure at the Ministry, Carolina Perebinos held various diplomatic and leadership positions within the International Law and Bilateral Cooperation Division. Between 2017 and 2019, she held the position of Secretary of State. After returning from the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the USA, from August 2023 until now, she worked as ambassador with special missions at the Ministry.

“I’m convinced that the new secretary of state will significantly contribute to implementing the agreed actions and to increasing the efficiency and improving the work processes at the Ministry,” said Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
