Gazprom donates $12.25m to Moldovan Government

The Government of Moldova received a donation of $12.25 million from the Russian gas company Gazprom. The money will go to purchase oil products for supplementing the state reserves, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Government’s press service. The humanitarian aid was offered under an agreement reached by Moldova’s President Vladimir Voronin and the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev during Vladimir Voronin’s visit to Moscow on March 18, the quoted source said. The Agency for Material Reserves, Public Acquisitions and Humanitarian Aid will use the money to buy crude oil and diesel oil for carrying out the spring agricultural works and for ensuring the country’s energy security, the communiqué from the Government says.
