Gazprom cheapens gas because of smaller world prices
The Russian giant Gazprom has decided to sell Moldova cheaper natural gas in quarter 3 of 2009 and does not plan to essentially change the price in Q4, the press service of the distributor Moldova-Gaz is quoted by Info-Prim Neo as announcing.
“In connection with the decline of gasoil and fuel oil prices in the world, in Q3 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas for Moldova will cost $186.85. In Q1, the price was $339.2, and in second quarter – $255.71,” the communique reads.
Under the contract inked by Moldova and Gazprom for the 2007-2011 period, the gas price is set quarterly, in function of the fluctuation of the hydrocarbons' prices in the world.
