Gasoline will cost 31.31 lei/liter on May 31

Fuel prices continue to rise. Gasoline “95” on Tuesday will cost 31.31 lei, by 0.16 lei more than today, while diesel fuel will cost 27.42 lei, up 0.13 lei. These are the price ceilings for the main oil products of standard type set by the National Agency for Energy Regulation, IPN reports.

According to the Agency, the shortage of oil products generated by the war in Ukraine and the EU member states’ refusal to import crude oil and derivatives from Russia continue to generate increases in oil prices at international level. As the Republic of Moldova imports 100% of the consumed oil products, the current tendencies have an impact on the national market.

On May 27, diesel fuel cost 1150 $/tonne on the international markets, up 72.41% compared with the start of 2022, while gasoline COR 95 cost over 1,300 $/tonne, up 75.14%, which is a record increase for the past ten years.
