One month after the last rises in oil prices, five oil importing companies announced new increases. On July 12-13, these raised the retail gasoline prices by 3.7% or 0.65 lei per liter on June to 18.3 lei per liter on average, IPN reports.
According to the National Agency for Energy Regulation, the given companies invoked the rise in the PLATT'S quotations of oil products and their purchase prices and the continuous depreciation of the Moldovan leu against the U.S. dollar.
The Agency’s data show that this is the sixth modification in the retail prices of gasoline so far this year. In January, the gasoline prices decreased three consecutive times on a month before by 5.2% on average. In February, the gasoline prices were modified two times. The first time they were increased by an average of 4.6% on January, while the second time they were reduced by 1.1%.
The gasoline prices remained at the same level until the beginning of June, when they were raised by 2.9% on average to 17.8 lei per liter.
