Gas supply still missing in parts of Moldova

On Monday morning, December 12, sixteen locations in the districts of Stefan Voda, Causeni, Anenii Noi and Dubasari were still without gas supply. In the villages of Antonesti and Carahasani, Stefan Voda, supply was disrupted on January 11, Liliana Puscasu, spokesperson for the Civil Protection Service, told Info-Prim Neo. Gas shipments to Moldova were halted on January 6 following a dispute between Russia and Ukraine over the gas transiting the Ukrainian territory and destined for Europe. On January 11, at a meeting of the Commission for Emergencies, Moldovan Senior Deputy Prime Minister Igor Dodon reported the situation concerning the supply of Moldovan consumers with gas was stable, while recent Ukrainian gas shipments through Alexeevka pipeline led to an increase in pressure in the pipe providing gas to Ungheni district, where the situation had been difficult.
